A heroes journey of the first order. Thanks for sharing the dire trek into the dark nature of long relations with a mentally distorted individual. A narcissist is an oppressor by nature. And worse, when time allows. But heroes, that is an entirely different matter.

Making the decision was everything. Deciding and then doing. And continuing to do so. Ah, the sirens song in the midst of trial and tribulations. While there is a final point to make.

You see, being a hero means little unless the heroics are not put to test. While critically shared with others not in the sense of being but having done. And done again and again. Alas, the sacred journey. Perpetual. And ever into the good night.

I bask in your reflected glory. A victory well fought. A life well lived. A salute to the conquering hero. Now keep on writing. The story has only now begun. For you are more. Much more. But what a foundation to evolve from.

As for the narc, they are always the same. Some alter for the better but most just drift off into their own hell, oblivious to the rising flames.
