How do I protect my children while creating damage control, their narcissistic mother lurking, seeking her due, the marriage tilting toward windmills?

Narcs are object related individuals. Children are more akin to flower pots then soulful selves with individual personas. Of course, I had no clue. Nor notion of what that meant or who was to suffer because of it.

My wife of nearly 30 years, the mother to our three children, one boy and two girls, seemed happiest the day she gave birth for the first time. She was beyond attentive, at first… loving, it seemed. Cuddling, rocking, soothing, and nurturing became her as we settled into routine. A family that had no clue, grew. There was no word or action that stated what caution lights are meant for. Yes, there were stark moments but not what you think as bedeviling.
