Nick, interesting treatise while straddling a thin line as demarcation go.

To be succinct, I would suggest you have misplaced the term connection.

As you describe social venues as connections I would argue they are links...as in a chain...or whirlwind with its currents. But not a genuine connection based on the truth. Thus, to conclude, your argument's conclusion becomes weakened...if not troubled. Think about it.

The problem in today's society the culture no matter where it is located, is specifically there. Believing we have something we don't then assuming that all is well as we sleepwalk into isolation feeling lonely. All holding Zoom hands convinced we are connected as smiles remain coopted by wishful thinking and willful ignorance. Think about it. And good luck with wherever the moment takes you. You have much to offer would be my final suggestion.
